The UK’s leading training and behaviour expert – The Company of Animals – has launched an innovative activity food centre for cats to stimulate their senses and natural problem-solving capabilities.
The Aikiou Stimulo (pronounced IQ) activity food centre stimulates the felines’ natural intelligence and hunting skills by motivating the cat to solve a series of puzzles to gain access to food.
Ideal for indoor cats or felines with limited access to outdoors or just as a dietary aid or toy, the Stimulo consists of a series of plastic tubes which hold the food and create a challenge for the cat to access its meals or treats.
The activity centre offers various levels of the game by increasing the height of the tubes to create a more complex task.
As well as stimulating the cats’ senses, the Stimulo aids weight control by demanding effort and activity so slowing down the speed of eating.
Liz McGuinness, Marketing & Business Development Manager of Company of Animals, said: “Created to stimulate the animal's natural passion to seek and find food, the Aikiou Stimulo products help tackle the number one welfare challenge to house-bound cats; boredom and the lack of natural hunting opportunities.
“Aikiou Stimulo is a real advance in stimulating a cat’s natural need to hunt and play. It helps to alleviate boredom and is a superb aid to cats with behaviour and diet related issues which can occur as a direct result of an inactive indoor lifestyle. Some owners may, however, just want to add an extra dimension to their moggy’s play time.”
The Company of Animals, founded by Dr Roger Mugford, is one of the UK’s leading producers of specialist pet behaviour and training products and continues to innovate product-based solutions to behavioural issues affecting dogs and cats.
